🗜️ How to Create a Zip File in Windows

Zipping files or folders is a common task that helps manage your digital documents. Creating a Zip archive compresses your data, reducing the total file size. This makes it much faster to upload to the internet or email to colleagues. Additionally, it groups multiple files into a single, convenient package.

📝 Steps to Zip Files

Creating a Zip folder in Windows is simple and requires no extra software:

  1. Select the files or folders you wish to include in the Zip archive. (You can hold Ctrl to select multiple individual files).
  2. Right-click on the selected items.
  3. In the menu that appears, hover over Send to.
  4. Select Compressed (zipped) folder.

A new Zip file will appear in the same location with the same name as the file you right-clicked. You can rename this file if needed.
